HOW TO GET A GREAT SMOKEY EYE
FEATURING SMASHBOX’S FULL EXPOSURE PALLET
~In order to get this look you will need the Smashbox Full Exposure eyeshadow pallet which comes with a double sided eyeshadow brush and eye primer. You will also need your favorite mascara, foundation, powder, blush, eyelash curler, an angled liner brush, and a beauty sponge. I personally use L’oreal Manga mascara and the Maybelline Fit Me Matte foundation and powder and NYX blush.
~First thing’s first, you need to start with clean, moisturized face. Once you accomplish that, you’re ready for make up! Start with priming your eye with the primer included with the pallet.
~Squeeze just a little bit out of the primer tube onto your finger and smooth it all over your lid. A little really goes a long way. Let that sit for a little before you put on the eyeshadow.
~Once the primer has set, take the double sided make up brush and using the the smaller side, work the darkest brown shimmery color, or S1 into and slightly above your crease. (Your crease is the area right above your eyeball where you feel a slight indentation and before your brow bone)
~Next, using the larger end of the brush, take the second lightest shimmery color, S3, and swipe it from your lash line to your crease, covering the whole area.
~Then, again with the smaller brush, take the lightest shimmery color, S4, and place it just in the inner corner of the eye. This makes your eye look bigger by catching the light.
~Take the lightest matte shade, M4, and brush it all over your brow bone, from your crease to your eyebrow.
~Take your angled liner brush, wet it slightly, and get it covered in the black eyeshadow, M7, and draw your wing shape. Fill in the shape and do the rest of your liner.
~Take the down brown (S1) shimmery color and line your bottom lash line to get that nice smokey look.
~Finally, take your eyelash curler and press your lashes until they look the way you want! Take your favorite mascara and apply a coat from the base of your lashes to the tip. Let it dry, and add another coat to get a nice dramatic look.
~Now we move on to the face! Wet your beauty sponge and squeeze out the excess water. Put some foundation on the back of your hand. Dab the sponge into the foundation, and then dab all over your face until you have an even color. Don’t forget to bring some down onto your neck to keep a nice blend.
~Take your powder and create a nice even veil over the foundation to help set the make up. Again, don’t forget to bring the powder down on to your neck to keep the color even.
~Take your favorite blush and using your fingers or a brush, and brush the color over the apples of your cheeks.
~Viola! You have a perfect night out make up. If you’d like to dress it up a little more you could add lipstick/lip gloss, just try not to go overboard, a dramatic eye and a dramatic lip could leave you looking more like a clown than a model.
